SCHOOL STRUCTURE

Formative Years (Playgroup to UKG)

Early childhood, which spans the period up to 8 years of age, is critical for cognitive, social, emotional and physical development. During these years, a child’s newly developing brain is highly plastic and responsive to change as billions of integrated neural.

Circuits are established through the interaction of genetics, environment and experience. Optimal brain development requires a stimulating environment, adequate nutrients and social interaction with attentive caregivers. Unsafe conditions, negative interactions and lack of educational opportunities during these early years can lead to irreversible outcomes, which can affect a child’s potential for the remainder of his or her life.

The right to a child’s development has been accepted and embraced by the international community. The Convention on the Rights of the Child clearly highlights the importance of early childhood development (ECD). Evidence from multiple disciplines has confirmed that investing in early childhood development is one of the most cost-effective ways to improve educational achievement and to increase skills, capabilities, and productivity. Based on this new research and an enhanced understanding of the complete wellbeing of the child, early childhood development is increasingly being put on the agenda for children’s rights. Ensuring the healthy cognitive, social and emotional development of young children merits the highest priority for the sake of raising healthy children worldwide.

Junior School

The Junior School, which includes a foundation section for campus children and classes 1 to 5, is contiguous with the Middle School, which consists of classes 6 and 8. These are housed together in the same compound of buildings and share the facilities of an open assembly hall, a well-stocked library, science laboratories and a mathematics-cum-computer laboratory. There are also audio-visual facilities, a yoga-cum-activity room and spacious sports facilities for cricket, tennis and football.

ACADEMICS

Overview

Angel palace students and teachers bring a diversity of knowledge, experiences, and accomplishments to our community. But what we all share is an intense curiosity and a love of learning.

At each grade level, students are challenged academically and personally to learn and grow. From the lab to the stage, our faculty and staff guide students as they gain understanding and proficiency across all disciplines. Our academic program is designed to teach students the knowledge, skills, and attitudes that will best prepare them for success in a global society.

Methodology & Learning Styles

Angel palace students are supported by faculty and staff with outstanding experience and credentials in their fields, as well as a passion for educating young people. In addition to their teachers, Angel palace students have access to a wide range of educational specialists in our library, global education program, and student and family support program. An ongoing professional development program and evaluation system supports teachers at all stages of their careers by supporting their growth in areas such as pedagogy (the study of how best to teach), inclusion and equity, technology, and discipline-specific knowledge.

Curriculum

School academic program reflects our belief in the importance of broad study in the liberal arts and fostering global understanding. Our faculty foster rigorous, collaborative learning environments where students can develop their critical thinking, take creative and intellectual risks, and deeply engage in the content.”Our curriculum is tailored specifically to allow for and encourage student choice from freshman through senior year.”

BEYOND ACADEMICS

In school drama, music, and visual arts classrooms, we strive to create environments where students can learn powerful lessons about springiness, imagination, and empathy. Engagement in the arts helps students understand the value of sustained effort over time; increases their ability to approach a problem from a variety of angles; and deepens their interest in and ability to relate to other people – all which are of lifelong importance.

Teaching the creative process is at the heart of all of our arts courses. Our faculty and coaches lead students towards a deep engagement with the creative process: generating original ideas, testing different approaches, collaborating with peers, incorporating feedback, and building resilience as they move towards creating works of art that can be shared with the larger community.Athletics focuses on what is most valuable about sports: development, teamwork, and pride. Talented coaches who teach passionate athletes; see our community come together to cheer for our teams; and observe our student-athletes grow, mature, and reach for their best. Angel palace student athletes are creating incredible memories, building lifelong friendships, and graduating with a set of skills that will strengthen their ability to lead successful, enriching lives.
